On the occasion of my recent passage to the HDV standard with the new Canon XH-A1 and needing as many informations as I could about this camera in short time, I searched the net looking for a good video course which would analyze all camera’s detais and suggest the best way to use it.

The search ended buying, in US, the training DVD “Inside The Canon XH-A1 And XH-G1” made by Douglas Spotted Eagle (V.A.S.S.T.) who, as usual, is qualified and careful to the evolution of the professional video market.

The DVD (DVD9, Dual Layer) is compatible with all the regions (without vision restrictions) but is in NTSC format, so, befor buying, you need to verify that your DVD player supports this format without problems (at the moment all the DVD players should support it).

The Training DVD contains 145 minutes of video in which the new prosumer cameras Canon XH-A1 and XH-G1 are presented, and their functions and characteristics are explained.
In addition there is an interesting documentary about HDV standard.
