Pagina 2 di 3 The main interface of the DVD shows a side area that gives access to the lessons, organized in chapters. When clicking on a chapter a brief description of the contents appears with the lessons included and their duration. In the lower left corner (but only on DVD 1) the button “index” takes to the index of main topics, alphabetically ordered, from which you can directly jump to the lesson that covers a specific topic. Working on Final Cut Pro watching lessons it’s easy, because when you click outside the main interface the playback pauses and restart from that point when you click on it again. The video can also be opened in a separate window in order to have more room on the screen and to work in FCP without pausing the lesson. Videos have a resolution of 800x600 and the audio/video compression quality is good. In organizing the 96 lessons, Inside Final Cut Pro 5 avoided the micro-lessons approach (very short lessons of about 1-2 minutes strongly focused on specific tools) used in many training DVD, but chose a less fragmentary description of topics, with lessons of about 4-6 minutes, sometimes reaching 10 minutes or more. The longest lessons are “Output for Broadcast” and “Fundaments of HD” with a lenght of 22 e 21 minutes respectively. In my opinion the approach used in this training is the best possible, because too much fragmented topics are not easy to follow for users.
