IDX System Technology, the premier manufacturer and supplier of batteries, chargers, and power supplies to broadcasters and video professionals, today introduced the X-3 Professional On-board Camera Light, which uses powerful, cool LEDs to provide high-intensity, low-power illumination in even the most rugged ENG/EFP video production situations.
The lighting system will be introduced at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention, held at the Las Vegas Convention Center. IDX is in Central Hall, Booth C-3036 (first floor)
Designed for television news shooters and similar users, the X-3 camera light provides cool long-lasting illumination for roughly 10,000 hours before replacement. Its LEDs produce 35W output of daylight color temperature lighting requiring only 11W of power. The X-3's ultra-low power consumption is significant in any shooting situation when production requires extensive use of battery power.
The LED lighting units are developed by the same IDX experts who created the award-winning ENDURA Lithium Ion battery system. Because they are solid-state, they eliminate the need for extra safety glass, diachronic filter, spare filament bulbs, and reduce or eliminate camera light heat altogether. With its heatless LEDs, the X3 ensures that camera operators, subjects, filters and gels remain free from the effects of light heat.
