Pagina 2 di 7 Aspect HD and Premiere Pro 2.0 After installing Aspect HD, when starting Premiere we can choose Cineform’s presets.
The presets have in their project settings the codec and settings that allow the acceleration of editing operations.
Capturing and editing HDV is not the same as DV, some things are different. Even if you need the same firewire cable and port for capturing, there are some changes. For example Premiere is not able to handle the scene detection of HDV files and during capture hides the preview on the screen. Even Aspect HD can’t handle captured files output (Matrox RT.X2 can do it) leading to the preview on the LCD monitor of user’s camera, but unlike Premiere it can handle scene detection….and more. Additionally HDV files captured via Premiere have mpeg2 extension, with Cineform’s Aspect HD you can capture in an “intermediate format” which produces, after capturing, M2t and/or Avi files. Even if the dimension of these files is bigger, they are easier to handle during editing, because of their minor CPU processing power requirements and introduce less artifacts in HDV file rendering (managing a color space 4:2:2 & not 4:2:0 of native HDV).
Now we will focus on the editing phase.
