Pagina 1 di 6 Amsterdam IBC 2007 finished giving us appointment to the next year and Sony launches the long expected version 8 of its NLE software Vegas which, for this occasion, takes (…re-takes), the suffix PRO. Will this be the final release that users expected ? We’ll try to find out in this review.
The press release announcing the presentation of this new version of Vegas 8 reported some of the new interesting features such as 32-bit floating point processing, integrated multicam, MPEG2 Long Gop files editing without recompression, direct burning from the timeline of Blu-Ray (a technology by Sony) and the new advanced titler. Thanks to Sony Creative Software, we received a Vegas Pro 8 box very quickly in order to test it in detail. I have to say a positive thing about boxed software; even if now digital delivery (electronic distribution of software) got over the first phase and buying via Internet is a common activity with all its advantages, it is really exciting to have a beautiful box with manuals in your hands.
In the box we found: - Vegas Pro 8 Quick Start Manual
- DVD Architect Pro 4.5 Quick Start Manual
- The flyer with keyboard shortcuts for both softwares
- The card with the activation codes
- A promotional coupon from the web portal Thought Equity Motion that allows the free download of 15 clips.
- A flyer with all the Sony Creative Software products.
- The CD with the softwares.

The CD contains: - Vegas Pro 8.0
- Vegas Pro 8.0 User Manual(PDF)
- DVD Architect Pro 4.5
- DVD Architect Pro 4.5 User Manual(PDF)
- Media Manager 2.3
- Trought Equità Motion Search 1.0
- Sample projects for Vegas and DVD Architect (184Mb)
- Extras
- Adobe Reader
- Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 e 3.0
- Scripting SDK
- Sony Loop Reference Library
