Vediamo cosa ne pensano su it.media.video.produzione del mojo.
utilizzati.
In sostanza mojo mi sembra sovrapprezzato.
E poi:
Real-time effects rendering through both analog and FireWire outputs
Accelerates time-consuming media I/O and conversion operations
Real-time DV output to tape with real-time 2D and 3D DVE
Real-time video monitoring, analog-DV and DV-analog conversion, and uncompressed graphics and titles (via analog output)
Multi-channel audio punch-in with low-latency monitoring
Genlock synchronization to black burst on both analog and digital ports
Adds ability to deal with uncompressed 601 media
Frame accurate output to tape
20-bit analog audio input and output
Mojo
Hardware: PCI hardware accelerator w/ Breakout Box. Real-Time Analog, DV & MPEG2 output
· DVD Authoring: ReelDVD le
· Compression: DV
· Real-Time: Real-time Analog & DV, Expert Color Correction

Mojo is Xpress DV with the option to do uncompressed titles. Like I said its not even real time unless you are using DV25 compression. Did I mention you need a 4 channel array just to be able to run 1:1 media… Some will say $1700 is worth it for titles that look good and a back door way to to 1:1 if they really needed it. But here is why I disagree.
Lets assume you are already an owner of Xpress DV, the upgrade to Xpress Pro will only cost $300, the Mojo hardware will cost you $1,700 if you would like to do uncompressed anything you will need Media Arrays that can handle 1:1 compression. You are talking ATLEAST $1000, unless you build it yourself. And if you get the recommended Avid LVD drives (which avid says you need to use with the system) you are talking AT LEAST another $3000 or more. PLUS mojo WILL NOT work on the system you have now, unless that system is the HP 8000 workstation. The work station starts at around $2,000 but you WILL need to upgrade the system just to use mojo. You have to have DUAL Xeon processors, mojo will not work with a single processor computer. Add another $500, just for the lowest processor. But if you want to upgrade the speed a little (which is also recommended by AVID) you are talking at least another $1,000. Then you need the ONLY Video card that will work with mojo, add another $500. And now you need to upgrade to at least 1gb of registered RAM, another $500 plus. Two of the resellers said they had problems running the system on 1gb, and suggest 2 GB of ram, add another $1,000. Plus you have to add in a hard drive or two and if you want the internal SCSI drives you add at least another $500…. SO JUST TO RUN Xpress Pro with MOJO, you are talking ATLEAST $9,500…
THAT’S RIGHT $9,500 dollars, just to use MOJO…. Doesn’t sound too good anymore does it??? Plus mojo is the only hardware in the DNA line that is not fully upgradeable with processor speed, unlike the Adrenaline and Nitrous.
...
Ciao.
