Recentemente ha lavorato sull’album "At This Time" di Burt Bacharach’s aiutando a conquistare il Grammy® come "Best Pop Instrumental Album of the Year".
"It’s a fantastic CD, and I’m proud to have been a part of it!" commenta Perlman.
"It started about a year and a half ago. Dr. Dre gave Burt all these drum loops, Burt gave me the loops, and we started working on it. Burt started writing songs around the loop, which was pretty cool, and then it worked its way up from there."
Perlman ha utilizzato Sony ACID Pro per sistemare i beats di Dr. Dre.
"A lot of times I’ll just go into ACID and set the tempo. I start adding bass things and looking for weird little effects. I have the entire Sony library for ACID."
Perlman e la moglie, la vocalista Peggi Blu, vivono a Los Angeles e vantano collaborazioni con numerosi artisti del calibro di Bob Dylan, Elton John, Neil Sedaka, Carole King, Jonathan Richman, Leonard Cohen, Dolly Parton, Stephanie Mills, Whitney Houston, and many, many others.
