Premiere Pro feature summary (June 2025 release)

The 25.3 release of Premiere Pro features advanced filtering in the Search panel, label colors in sequence tabs, and more. It's the perfect time to update.

Advanced filtering in the Search panel
Search for your perfect shot using advanced filtering to quickly locate specific clips or assets in large projects.
In the advanced filtering panel, select Create New Filter and add metadata-based rules (e.g., File Type, Frame Rate, Status, Audio/Video, Label Color) and stack up to 8 different filters to combine search criteria.

Label colors in sequence tabs
Sequence label colors will allow you to visually distinguish between different sequences in your project. This feature will help in quickly identifying and managing multiple sequences, especially in complex projects.

Improved data range and color metadata handling for DNxHR, DNxHD, and PNG

Automatic data range detection
Premiere Pro now automatically detects and applies the correct data range (narrow/legal/video or full/extended) when importing DNxHR/DNxHD (via MXF) and PNG files, based on embedded metadata. This functionality is bit-depth agnostic.

Super-whites and sub-blacks preservation
When importing narrow, legal, or video range files, the color pipeline preserves the super-whites and sub-blacks data present in out-of-bounds signal values.

Enhanced Color Metadata Support
PNG stills with CICP-tagged metadata are now correctly interpreted and managed within Premiere Pro’s color management system.

Export Enhancements

- Export Color Space Selection: DNxHR, DNxHD, and PNG exports now support manual color space selection via Export settings > VIDEO > More.

- Metadata for PNG: Optionally embed Mastering Display Color Volume and Content Light Levels during PNG export by enabling Include Mastering Display and Color Light Level Metadata under Export settings > VIDEO > More.

Support for NVIDIA Blackwell Architecture GPUs
Premiere Pro now supports NVIDIA Blackwell GPU acceleration for 4:2:2 video, unlocking fast playback performance. 4:2:2 video delivers twice the color detail of 4:2:0 with only a modest increase in file size, making it ideal for precise color grading, cleaner chroma keying, and crisper text rendering. Editors using NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs can take full advantage of accelerated 4:2:2 playback.
